THE FOURTH

Discourse, on Faith.

What it is to believe in God, and what that power is; also the miracles of worldly and divine faith; also what things hinder faith, and how someone should be able to hate himself, deny himself through faith, and through the works of the Spirit kill the works of the flesh. The sum of the discourse is this: He who believes in God and in His Son Jesus Christ, he may, by the power of faith through the Holy Spirit, kill his flesh with its lusts, and serve God in the Spirit and truthfully.

Gladly have I heard your words yesterday and also today, O Diederick, and learned from them many things that I did not know. But what moves me primarily, that
