When the woman has recovered from her fainting, one must let her lie still, give her only some food, and often, but little at a time. And the first twenty-four hours one shall not use a Clysteer enema.
If the Kraam post-partum discharge flows too strongly, one must stop the body with cloths soaked in water and vinegar, placing a similar cloth on the loins, or also a Plaester plaster made of egg white, Armenian Bole a medicinal red clay, water, and vinegar, well beaten together. The women in the countryside place raw flax on it, which has been soaked in water and vinegar. Others make a plaster with [medical] plaster mixed with vinegar, as I have done with good success, and seen used by others.
One must lay the patient's head a bit low, and give her only moderate food, such as some meat broth by the spoonful, since the stomach being full of vapors and winds, a large quantity of food or drink would burden her.
When the hemorrhage has been checked, and the patient has recovered from her fainting, one shall, twenty-four hours later, set a Clysteer enema of

But the Clysteer enema must be low in volume so as not to burden nature, which is weak. One shall set them again morning and evening. In the one for the morning, one shall melt three ounces of Water Lily honey, and in the evening one, no honey, but only the decoction of water with a handful of Wheat Bran. One must not set any stronger Clysteer enema without further need and the advice of a doctor.
If the patient complains of great pain in the belly, one must put an ounce of oil of sweet almonds into the Clysteer enema that one sets in the evening. One can also use whey original: "Huy" instead of this decoction, which usually does more good.
If the belly is tense, and this causes great pain, one must use softening and carminative original: "windbrekende" (wind-breaking) poultices, made of
