In the Year 1589, Abraham Cock of Limehouse began his Voyage to the River Plate, with 2 pinnaces, each of 50 tons; the one from England was named May-morning, and the other was called the Dolphin.
On the 20th of April we sailed from the Thames, and arrived on the 26th of the same month at Plymouth, where we took in some provisions for our Voyage.
Arrives on the Coast of Barbary.
On the 7th of May we went from there to Sea, but had to return to Plymouth due to bad weather, where we remained for some days, and subsequently continued our Voyage; we ran along the Coast of Spain and Barbary, and arrived at the roadstead of Santa Cruz, where we assembled our Sloop, which we had in pieces on the Ship, of which Abraham Cock had great expectations, and intended to do his Voyage with it. This being done, we went to Sea again, and ran along the Guinea Coast, but being too close under Land, we got into a great
