How they lived.
These Gagas remained here 4 months and had an abundance of all sorts of livestock, corn, wine, and oil; they did nothing but indulge in joy, with dancing, drinking, and, what was most sorrowful to see, eating human flesh. At the end of those 4 months, they moved on to the Serras mountains/ridges of Cashindcabar, which are very high and in which there are great copper mines; on the way they plundered everything they found.

From here they went to the river Longa and settled on the other side of it at Calango, where they remained for 5 or 6 months.

Subsequently, we moved up and came into the province of Tondo, by the river Gouza, and marched past its south side to a lord named Makellacolongo, not far from the great city of Dongo.

High cold mountains.
Here we passed over very high mountains where it was very cold.
Having been among these cannibals for 16 months, they moved again toward the west and came along the river Gouza or Gunza, to a lord named Shillambansa, who was the uncle of the King of Angola.
The river Gouza.
Shillambansa's place burned.
We set his capital city on fire, which was built lavishly in their manner; it was a pleasant and fertile place; we found here a multitude of wild peacocks, which flew up and down from the trees like other birds.
100 peacocks on his grave.
The old lord Shillambansa was buried in the middle of the city, where 100 tame peacocks were kept on his grave, which he had given to his Mokefo idol/image, and they were called Angello Mokeso, that is: the statue's or devil's birds, and were held as holy. In this grave lay much copper, linen, and many other things, according to the custom of that land.
From here we moved westward along the river Coanza and arrived directly opposite the Serras, or mountains, of Cambambe, or Serras de Prata Silver Mountains. Here is a great waterfall
