Capawuck.
Close by here is Capawuck, a land full of minerals, copper, and people, as I discovered lately. But near this place, I encountered some accident, which I will pass over for the present. Here I learned that the Massachusets are sometimes at war with the Bashabes and those of Penobscot, as well as with those of Chawum and their friends. But at the time that I stayed there, they were all friends and traded with one another as far as they bordered upon each other, for they do not make longer journeys than from Penobscot to Cape Cod. They seldom come to Massachuset, which lies toward the North, where they begin to sow corn. Regarding the part toward the South, there is such an abundance of corn that the Northern Peoples can obtain everything they desire there, and in the wintertime, much more fish and birds.

Main Islands, to recognize the Land.
The most notable islands to recognize the land are these, namely: the highest island is Sorico in the Bay of Penobscot. But the 3 islands and the cliff of Matinack lie much deeper in the sea. Matinack are 3 flat islands and a stone cliff between them and Monahigan, which is also a high and round island, and next to it Monanis; between them lies a small harbor. In the Damerils Islands is yet another Sagadahock, which is known by Satquin, 5 or 6 islands at the entrance. Smiths Islands are a multitude lying together, none near one another against Accominticus. The 3 Turkish Heads are 3 islands, which appear from far in the sea. Regarding the Headlands, only Cape Tragabigzanda and Cape Cod are the most important. The waters that push into the interior of the land are generally clear and bright.
One finds there various herbs and fruits.
