Preface to the Reader.

...who does not possess and occasionally feel the less sound παθήματα affections of his own fallible genius and memory, and no small lapses of his own judgment: But you, Benevolent Reader, attend to this our expended labor with a diligent spirit, read it through, and examine it; which having been done, let your judgment of the rest be worthy. I add no more, except that I bid you fare well and do well through Christ, and continue to live with praise to God, to yourself, and to your neighbor, piously, honestly, and candidly; this is my innermost wish: fare you well again and again.
