The Scottish grade centers on the sorrow Salomon felt for the loss of his favorite Hiram, the architect. One washes one's hands of all treason against Masonry. The sign is the opposite; the touch is the grip at the ankle, foot against foot on the outside. One raises the vault three times while pronouncing the three words: Jachin, Agrene, Tubalcain.
The sign is to cross with the right hand from the left shoulder to the right hip; one responds with a parallel at the lower belly. The words are Moabon, Geova, Schibolet. The touch is to take the hand in good faith while pushing it against the belly, while pronouncing these three words.
The sign is the thumb to the forehead, the hand horizontal on the surface of the earth; one responds with a triangle at the lower belly. The touch is the grip at the ankle, foot against foot on the outside; the left hand against the shoulder of the other. The words are Gomer, Gabaon, Giblin.
The sign is three fingers of the hand raised perpendicularly to the sky. The touch is the thumb of the right hand on the forehead of the other. The words are Alleluya, Emanuel, Amen. The password is: "God will it, so be it."
